Due to increasing demands from the student body, SGA will be hosting a spirit week called "Spring Fling." It will be held April 5th to April 12th, starting off with a beach BBQ the first Saturday and ending with prom on the second Saturday. Details on what will happen during this "Spring Fling" are still up to debate. If you have any ideas, email Colton Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org or come to our meetings on Mondays at 2pm in Ms. Laskowski's room.
Possible plans for "Spring Fling:"
Do you hate when your crush doesn't ask you to homecoming, or out in general, or even talk to you??? Are you tried of it?! Well then this is your time to shine. On Friday, February 7th, ECHS will host its first ever Sadie Hawkins Dance! What's so special about a Sadie Hawkins Dance you ask? Well let me tell you! Sadie Hawkins is a non-traditional, semi-formal dance, in which the young bachelorettes of ECHS ask the guys to the dance. Our Sadie Hawkins dance will be themed as a pre-Valentine's Day dance. So get those red and pink dresses and ties out ladies and gentlemen, you'll need them!
The dance will be held on February 7th, from 6 to 10 pm. Tickets will be on Sale the week of the dance in the cafeteria. Offical ticket prices are 5$ per-ordered or 6$ at the door. This dance is semi-formal, with the girls in charge. Research the Sadie Hawkins Dance to learn the rules!
Traditionally, the second semester of the year is a slower time for the entire SGA. This is because the upper classes are busy planning prom and graduation events. This year we are trying something different. While the upper classes will still do their normal events, we are adding on to events in the second semester.
The following events will happen in the second semester:
The following events are being discussed:
Do any of these events interest you? Do you have an issue with any of these events? Is there something you want added to this list? Email us at the quick link above, comment on this blog post, or come to our SGA meetings on Monday at 2pm! Of course the most direct way to contact us is show up at the meetings, but the other two methods are much faster. We hope to get your input!
While SGA spends almost two months planning Homecoming Week, It is the student body and faculty of ECHS that make it great. The week went amazing, and the dance was phenomenal. SGA wants to thank each and every one of you! We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Seniors have a class meeting and their senior panoramic on Monday. Please come in school spirit attire to make this photo a true embodiment of school spirit. Powderpuff practices will be happening that Monday as well.
Tuesday is Character Day. Wednesday is Sports Day.
Thursday is Throwback. Bring class color clothing because field day and the semifinals of powder puff begin that day. The events start at noon and continue on till around 4. A late bus will arrive around 4 for students needing it.
Friday is clash of the classes! Wear your class color! Meet on the green next to the high school building after school. The carnival will start after school and will run from 2:00 to 6:30 pm. The bonfire is the same night and will start around 6:00pm.
The Homecoming Dance, Under the Sea, will be Saturday the 16th. It will run from 6 - 10 pm.
SGA hopes to have major participation from all classes. Good luck to you all and be prepared to fight for the title of Homecoming Week Champions.
In your English class you will be voting, from the whole class, who you want to be you class representative. The one girl and one guy with the most votes will be your class representative for Homecoming. No underclassmen can become Queen or King.
No Junior can become Homecoming Queen or King. As with the underclass men, You will vote, out of the entire class, who you want to be your male and female representative. The two with the most votes will be your representative. The voting period will be from Nov.4th to Nov. 8th. Contact information will be given out the first day of voting through your Edison Portal email.
Only seniors can win Homecoming Queen and King. There will be a Homecoming court, which will be determined by nominations from students and a final review by a group of ECHS faculty. The final court will consist of 5 guys and 5 girls. The Queen and King will be voted on by seniors during Homecoming, on Saturday, November 16th. The Nomination Period will be Nov. 4th to the 7th. Court will be announced either that Friday or the Following Monday. The Form will be sent out the 30th, on the 31st an email will be sent out telling you where you can turn it in at.
Tickets for Homecoming will go on sale November 4th. You can purchase one from Ms. L, Mr.C, or during the lunches (10:45 - 12:05) of Homecoming Week. The prices are 12$ preorderd, 15$ for guest (Guest Form from Mr.C), and 15$ at the door.
Field Day has been moved to Thursday, from 12:05 - 1:45, with the semifinals of powder-puff football happening after school on the same day. The following activities will occur. Keep in mind that these smaller events add up to a lot of points for the Homecoming Week Competition.
Due to a majority of juniors wishing for a change in their class color, SGA has changed clash colors. Only two classes were changed. To keep things simple, Juniors will now be green as they were last year. Freshmen, to accommodate this change, will now be pink upon their representatives request.
This is the revised class color layout. The other posts have been changed, but this post is for any who have already seen them.
Seniors - Red Juniors - Green Sophomores - Purple Freshman - Pink
The bonfire will start after the carnival, around 6:00 to 6:30, on November 15th. It will last around half an hour. It will be the final event for Homecoming Week besides the dance. Bring a blanket/sheet to lay on and hangout with friends. Perhaps you could bring your own portable speaker to listen to music and look up at the stars. This is a perfect way to end the night of fun.
*SGA is looking for Wood. The wood should not be pressure treated or have nails in it. That means no pallets. If you have any you would like to donate Contact Ms.L or Mr.C*
This year homecoming has changed slightly.
First, the theme for this years dance is "Under the Sea." It is a semi-formal event, so you should dress appropriately. Girls are asked to keep in mind length when choosing a dress.
Second, the dance is no longer on Friday, it is instead on Saturday, November 16th from 6:00 - 10:00 PM. Ticket Prices are 12$ per-ordered and 15$ at the door. Guest ticket prices are 15$. Guest forms are available with Mr.C and should be turned in at least a week in advance.
Last, you may want to bring some extra spending money, between 10-25$. We will have pizza, soda, and water. Also a photo booth will be set up during the dance.
This is the only dance planned during the year that underclassmen are allowed to come to without being a guest. While that may change, underclassmen should plan on coming to this dance if they want to go to a dance this year.
